Poplar Street, Petersburg NEWS BRIEFS Blue Jean Center to host Sunday dinner The Blue Jeans Community Center in Monroe City will host Sunday dinner, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, breaded tomatoes, broccoli salad, roll, dessert and drink. Dine-in or carry-outs available. All proceeds benefit the center. Local libraries to host vaccination clinic October 28 The Pike County and Oakland City-Columbia Township libraries will be hosting a community vaccination clinic on Thursday, Oct. 28. Influenza and COVID-19 shots will be available at both locations. Additional vaccines may be available, if requested. The Indiana Immunization Coali- tion will be at Oakland City from 10 a.m.-noon and at the Petersburg library from 2-4 p.m. (all times local). Regis- tration is available online at patients.vaxcare.com/regis- tration Enrollment Code: IN65942, but walk-ins will also be available. Those needing assistance with the registra- tion process may visit either library for assistance. Now accepting United Way of Pike County funding United Way of Pike County is now accepting applica- tions for grant funding. To apply, an organization or agency has to have a 501(c) (3) tax exempt status, serve Pike County, and provide health and human services.
