Wright and her father, Philip Wright, when she received her "wings" as a Naval Aviator on Feb. 25, 2011, in Pensacola, Fla. Her hometown is Charleston. She graduated from Capital High School in 2004 and attended the U.S. Naval Academy, graduating in 2008. She is now a Navy lieutenant, flying the MH-60 ("Seahawk") helicopter for Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six, based in Coronado, Calif. She is currently deployed overseas with HSC-6 on the USS Nimitz. Her father retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2008 as a captain. Then-Staff Sgt. Phil Lawrence, of Charleston, is shown waiting for this chopper to take him to a remote site in the Arizona desert where he was embedded with the Border Patrol as a communications technician. At the same time, Lawrence was assigned to the 607th Tactical Control Squadron at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix. Lawrence retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant. LCPL Donivin Malik Wilkerson, of Charleston, is with the Marine Corps 2nd MLG CLR 27, Jacksonville, N.C. This photograph was taken in 2012 at Boot Camp at Parris Island, S.C. Cpl. Eric Dawson, of Clay County, has served with the Army (Infantry). This picture was taken in Afghanistan. Master Sgt. Donald E. Green, of Comfort, served in the Korean War with the Army and in Operation Desert Storm with the Air Force. This photograph was taken in 1992. Michael D. Grose served with ES ARNG 1092nd during Operation Iraq Freedom in Kuwait, June 2003. Grose's hometown is Fayetteville. Gunnery Sgt. Jeremy M. Boros, a 17-year veteran of the Marine Corps, is a Purple Heart recipient stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Army Sgt. 1st Class, E-7 (Ret.) Don E. Facemire is shown in a photograph taken at Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was serving in the Special Police Detachment. Facemire served in North Africa, France, Germany, Korea and many other locations. His last military unit was the 321 Ord. Bn., South Charleston. He was born in Richwood and lives in Ruth. Dale Goff, a Lieutenant Colonel with the West Virginia Air National Guard, is seen on a three-day trip to Honduras in 2005, delivering equipment. This is one of three photographs taken of W.Va. Air National Guard members returning from service in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm on April 13, 1991. Pictured here are Betty and Eli Evans with their son-in-law, CMS Danny Harper. Eli Evans is a World War II Army veteran, and he had a son, son-in-law and a nephew in the unit returning home that day. His service was in North Africa, and he said he would have liked to have gone with them on this deployment. Sr. Master Sgt. Arnold L. Harrison, of Sissonville, served with the 130th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard, Air Force. This photograph was taken in 1998. Here Since 1953!
