More than 1,000 turned out last year to help raise almost $90,000 for youth and accessible sailing programs. Get an exclusive front-row seat on the dock or aboard one of the group's 92 sailboats to hear the Boston Pops and enjoy a waterfront view of the fireworks. Event chair Adam Gorlovsky-Schepp has planned a backyard-style cookout with a carnival theme. When: July 4, 4:30 PM Where: Community Boating Boathouse, 21 David Mugar Way BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA What: Be one of the BSO's top benefactors at Opening Night at Tanglewood and experience an elegant, Russian-themed evening. Enjoy a gala cocktail reception prior to the concert, which will feature Tchaikovsky's music. Last year's 75th anniversary event raised more than $800,000, and this year event chairs Steve and Dottie Weber hope to generate at least $350,000 from the seated dinner and post-concert reception. When: July 5, 5 PM Where: Koussevitzky Music Shed, 297 West St., Lenox THE JUMPER CLASSIC What: After five years in New Hampshire, The Jumper Classic is returning to the North Shore. The world's top riders will compete in the prestigious five-day event, which raised more than $400,000 last year. The event, chaired by Melissa Lovasco, culminates with an awards ceremony featuring skydivers and Friesian horses, the $50,000 Grand Prix, and a VIP Champagne luncheon attended by 600 guests. The Best Hat Contest is one of the highlights of the day. When: July 14, 11:30 AM Where: Maplecroft Farm, 94 Essex Road, Ipswich ALLY FOUNDATION What: Raise your sails at the Annual Flip Flop Regatta, one of New England's largest pursuit-style races, and celebrate The Ally Foundation's inspirational cause at a Mount Gay Rum tent party. Founded by Kelly Bresnahan, Gregg Nourjian, Alec Stern, and Tom Zauli, the celebration will feature live music and a Mexican-inspired feast.
