The event was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, where Junot Diaz, Drew Faust, Joseph Finder, David Lindsay-Abaire, Sherry Turkle, and Mo Williams received awards for their work. Almost 500 guests attended this year's event, which raised more than $300,000. Two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning author and historian David McCullough made the keynote address. The money allows the six mounted horses to continue patrolling the Emerald Necklace.
