Dr. James Hopkins Loveless arrested for criminal recklessness-armed with deadly weapon By James Capozella Petersburg Patrolman Bryce Manning arrested Terry Lynn Loveless, 53, of 305 S. Martin St., Peters- burg, for criminal reckless- ness-armed with deadly weapon this past Saturday evening when Loveless re- portedly discharged a fire- arm in front of his residence to scare Dustin White, 32, in- to leaving. Manning reported that White's girlfriend, Shan- di Loveless, who lives at the Martin Street residence, was allowing White to stay there. Terry Loveless told Officer Manning that it was an on- going situation and he was tired of trying to get White to leave. Loveless stated he had yelled at White from outside the house to leave and then fired the one round he had loaded in a revolver into the air, according to the report. In an earlier interview with Officer Manning, White had said while at Huck's that he was about to leave with his stuff when Loveless turned the porch light off and walked inside. White said Loveless fired a gun in- to the ground. Loveless said White was in his truck at the time, according to the report. Sheriff Deputy Paul Collier assisted at the home and asked White where he was when the gun was dis- charged. He said that he was in the front of the house. Deputy Collier, accompa- nied by Shandi Loveless, re- trieved the High Standard 22 revolver and six cartridg- es from inside the house. Ter- ry Loveless told officers that he didn't want White coming around the house and had loaded just one bullet into the revolver. Asked if he had been drinking, Loveless said he had started around 4 p.m. and had seven or eight beers and a couple shots, accord- ing to the report. Manning administered a PBT, which registered .197. The firearm was confiscated and Loveless was taken into custody and released to jail staff for crimi- nal recklessness-armed with deadly weapon. Stove fire at Sunny's 53 A stove fire at Sunny's 53 convenience store in Otwell was quickly extinguished before it spread through the building Monday afternoon. Jefferson Township Fire Chief Chris Young said a grease fire started on the stove. Employees used multiple fire extinguishers on it and contained it, and the fire department finished it and re- moved the stove from the store. Young said if the fire had gotten past the overhead vent filters, it could have moved quickly throughout the store. Sunny's 53 was open on Tuesday, but weren't serving hot foods yet.
