Imagine that—men who wanted to serve the Lord, but who didn't want to sanctify themselves; that is, they didn't want to set themselves apart unto God (Ex. 13:2 cf. v. 12). How about you? Are you long on wanting to serve the Lord but short on wanting to set yourself apart as holy unto Him? If so, you should know that "this is the will of God, even your sanctification" (I Thes. 4:3). The Lord gave Himself for the Church "that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of wa- ter by the Word" (Eph. 5:25,26). Why not de- termine to bury yourself in God's Word, with the goal of learning how to be as pure as He died to make you now, in this life (Titus 2:14), and become "a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Master's use" (II Tim. 2:21). In this time of political and economic tur- moil we still have much to be thankful for. We have faith in God and hope that our problems can be solved. The recent election reminds us that America needs a spiritual awakening. In recent years we have seen America drift far from our great spiritual heritage. In God We Trust is still on our coins but too many trust in political power, greed, and dishonesty. Many sincere Chris- tians are deeply troubled over the political events of recent weeks. Our values about the sacredness of life have been questioned and our nation has drifted away from Christianity and toward socialism. The elite and liberal media often express their anti-God philoso- phy. Whatever is right they call it wrong. The elite media would like America to accept so- cialism with no under- standing of God's teach- ings. We have accepted other gods and call this religious perversion multi-culturalism. Some of our politi- cians have embraced all gods and promote a secular humanistic approach to life. The Com- munist tried socialism and it did not work. His- Well I am writing this article today feeling much better with only a few left over ailments from our battle with COVID virus. People asked my wife and I were you tested and our answer was easy because if you had the ail- ments we had you didn't have to be told what was going on. Now once we knew and had been to our family doctor we stayed away from oth- ers and only went out to see doctor or drive thru at CVS. Listen if you have this virus or if you are isolated with family please stay away from others and don't become a spreader of the virus. My shout-out this week is to Jim Woolsey and his family. Jim worked with me at IPL un- til he developed an allergy to some chemical mixtures we used and he had to take an early retirement. Jim and Lynna are blessed with a love and talent for music and it has been way too long for them to be recognized as the tal- ent they are. I'm proud to call them friends be- cause they do have hearts of gold and are rich in many many ways. As always I pray bless- ings on them and their family. I have to commend the Black Friday mer- chants for making it very pleasant to shop at their stores. My friend and I were amazed by the number of workers stationed around the store to help you find what you were looking for. The sale items were plentiful and easily found with no crowds shoving and grabbing. When it came time to check out we simply walked to the checkout lines and paid for our treasures. I have always said there was no need for all the excitement and confusion brought on by past sales. Congratulations stores be- cause you deserve a hearty "well done." Preparing for Heaven is much like going on a journey. First, you must decide you want to go there. Next, you must purchase a ticket. But wait. How will you purchase it? By going to church or acting religious? Or giving money or volunteering your time to help others? The Bible says none of these will suffice, because the ticket to Heaven is too expen- sive, far too expensive for any human being to afford. Does that mean we can nev- er go there? No, and the rea-
