Nelson, 101, of Bedford, and formerly of Winslow, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2020, at the home of her daughter. Born August 19, 1918, in Rockford, Ill., she was the daughter of Jesse and Esther Finch. She married Howard Nelson on March 9, 1935. She was a member of En- glewood Baptist Church and enjoyed working where needed. She even helped wash dishes at a dinner when she was 100. When she lived in Winslow, she taught adult and children's Sunday school classes. When she and her husband lived in Florida during the winter, she pre- pared Bible school mate- rial so she would be ready to direct and teach Bible school when she returned to Winslow. While living in Florida, they attended church and helped where they were needed, especial- ly in their church school. She is survived by her daughter, Sally (Nelson) Kimbley, of Bedford; grand- sons, Tim Nelson ( Joanne DeKemper), of Princeton, Rusty Nelson, of Winslow, and Joe (Cynthia) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Mya and Austen Nelson, of French Lick; brother, Charles ( Jack- ie) Finch, of Evansville; sis- ter-in-law, Mary Finch, of Avon; as well as several niec- es, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard (Froggy), in December 1994; son, Harry; daughter-in-law, Jan; brother, Bob Finch; and her parents, Esther (Reavis) and Jesse Finch. Graveside services were 1 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Sunset Cemetery in Winslow, with Pastor Mick Finch, her nephew, and Pas- tor Stephen Carter officiat- ing. REBECCA LYNN UPPENCAMP Rebecca Lynn Uppencamp, 63, of Jasper, passed away peacefully at 1:18 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospice in India- napolis. She was born on July 18, 1956, to Ivan and Mildred Fears. She graduated from Otwell High School in 1974. She en- joyed spending time with her family above all else. She loved traveling with Terry, visiting with Heath and Holly, and playing games with Braylon. She also enjoyed watching movies and T V shows with her family, watching Braylon's sporting events, and chatting with her brother, Jerry. She is survived by her life- long love, Terry Uppencamp, of Jasper; her son, Heath (Heather) Uppencamp, of Mattoon, Ill.; her daughter, Holly Uppencamp, of Nobles- ville; her grandson, Braylon Uppencamp; and her broth- ers, Jerry Fears, of Bell Buck- le, Tenn., and Rick Fears, of Lynnville. A Celebration of Life ser- vice will be held at a later date. SHARON A. ELLIOT T Sharon A. Elliott, 82, of Ha- zleton, passed away at 8:48 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2020, at her residence. She was born April 13, 1938, in Terre Haute, to Richard and Bridget (Everett) VanPatten. She married Carl Elliott on March 5, 1957. She owned the White Riv- er Inn in Hazleton for several years and was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and 40 and 8 auxiliaries. She was a devoted mother and grand- mother, and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Carla (Chad) Alldredge-Ice, of Decker, Sherri (Larry) Elkins, of Rogersville, Mo., and Brad- ley (Nancy) Elliott, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; her brothers, Dennis ( Vicki) VanPatten, of Decker, Edward (Ruth) Van- Patten, of Roseville, Calif., and Jerry (Geraldine) VanPatten, of Fort Branch; six grandchil- dren; and several great-grand- children. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl Elliott, on March 13, 2004; several brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at noon EDT on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Hazleton Com- munity Cemetery, with Rev. Frank Harmon officiating. Visitation was from 5 -9 p.m. EDT on Tuesday at Good- win-Sievers Funeral Home in Vincennes. LOIS JANE SMITH Lois Jane Smith, 74, of Winslow, went to Heaven on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Amber Manor in Petersburg. She was born on June 19, 1946, in Daviess County, to Minard J. and Lois Maxine (Morris) Kaiser. She married Jerry L. Smith on August 16, 1975. She was a member of Winslow Nazarene Church. She had 15 years of service at RCA in Bloomington. She en- joyed attending yard sales and working in her flower beds. Family left to cherish the memory of Lois include: her husband, Jerry Smith, of Winslow; brother, Richard (Lana) Kaiser, of Linton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sha- ron Shafer. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, with Pastor Joe Decker officiating. She will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cem- etery in Odon. This American Heart Association course cov- ers CPR for all ages, two-man CPR, bag-valve mask ventila- tion, relief of responsive and unresponsive FBAO (choking), and use of the AED. Participants must successfully complete a written test and skills evaluation to receive a course com- pletion (credential) card. MARY ANN ROBLING Mary Ann Robling, 77, of Petersburg, passed away June 29, 2020. She was born December 10, 1942, in Pike County, to Louis and Hazel (McGillem) Miller. She was a self-employed beautician for many years and a faithful member of the Glezen Revival Center. She loved the Lord deeply and is now in his presence. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ken- ny Robling; son, Kevin Robling; grandchildren, Ash- ley Robling, Courtney Ann Robling, Stephanie Scott, Mi- chelle Howell and Samuel Wentzel; seven great-grand- children; and one great-great- grandchild. She is preceded in death by her son, Alan Ray Robling; daughter, Kimberly Wentzel; and brother, Jack Miller. Due to the COVID-19 pan- demic, there will be a walk- through visitation from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. VIRGINA AUDR AY NORRICK Virginia Audray Norrick, 93, formerly of Winslow, en- tered rest on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. She was born on May 26, 1927, in Winslow, to Harry and Ona (Loveless) Bryant. She graduated from Winslow High School in 1945. She was a housewife and a member of Winslow Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles U. Norrick, whom she married on Aug. 16, 1947; sons, Michael Wayne and Steve Norrick; and a grand- son, Jeremy Norrick. She is survived by her son, Mark Allan (Libb) Norrick, of Winslow; daughters, Sha- ron Rae Pullum, of Newburgh, and Karen Sue (Robert) Mc- Donald, of Evansville; daugh- ter-in-law, Sue Norrick, of Winslow; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sev- en great-great-grandchildren. Private visitation and ser- vices will be at Lamb-Bash- am Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Scott Pullum officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Winslow. ROBERTA EVELYN FITZGER ALD Roberta Evelyn Fitzgerald, 84, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on June 28, 2020, at The Vil- lages at Oak Ridge. She was born on August 2, 1935, in Pike County, the daughter of Roy and Arietta Olive (Shoaf ) Dayton. She married Burke Hayes Fitz- gerald on February 5, 1955. She was a 1953 graduate of Winslow High School and had been a lab aid and sec- retary at Daviess Communi- ty Hospital. She later worked in Dr. Davis' office and was a member of Mt. Gilead Unit- ed Methodist Church, East- ern Star, Beta Sigma Phi and Cumback Homemakers Club. Survivors include her hus- band, Burke H. Fitzgerald, of Washington; daughter, Kathy Fitzgerald, of Wash- ington; sons, Joseph (Deb- ra) Fitzgerald, of Washing- ton, and Stephen Fitzgerald, of Washington; brother, Mi- chael Roy Dayton, of Wash- ington; and four grandchil- dren; four great-grandchil- dren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a broth- er, John Emery Dayton. Graveside services will be at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at East Union Cemetery, with Pastor Phil- lip Richardson officiating. She was born on March 30, 1959, in Princeton, to Donald Ray Burch and Delores Ann (Elder) Burch. She earned a Ph.D. in litera- ture from Cairn University in Philadelphia and was a profes- sor at Cairn University. She is survived by her chil- dren, James and Caitien (His- kett) Vossah, and their chil- dren, Mia and Eva, of Phoe- nix, Ariz., Jayde Vossah, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jacin- ta Vossah and her son, Say- gen, of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Diana "Katy" (Mick) Aldridge, of Winslow, Denise Rae Burch, of Algiers, and Darla (Michael) Perry, of Granite Falls, N.C.; two broth- ers, Kevin (Sherrie) Burch, of Somerville, and Keith (The- resa) Burch, of Lake Station, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.
