Poplar Street, Petersburg NEWS BRIEFS United Way of Pike County gives to Somebody's Place to help with food supply The United Way of Pike County was able to send a check to Somebody's Place in Petersburg for $250 this week to help with food supply during COVID-19. It is the United Way of Pike County's mission and goal to organize through vision and leadership the capacity of people to care for one another throughout Pike County. The UW of Pike County has 16 local board members. During this trying time, there is a Health and Hu- man Services Hotline available 24 hours a day for any- one in need. Pike/Gibson retired teachers April meeting cancelled The April 9 meeting at the Village Inn for the Pike/ Gibson Retired Teachers has been cancelled. Dr. Suel- len Reed, former State Superintendent of Public In- struction, who was scheduled to speak, will be re- scheduled. The next meeting will take place on September 10, 2020. Gift of Life banquet rescheduled The Pregnancy Care Center of Washington's Gift of Life banquet scheduled for April 16 has been post- poned until July 23. The banquet will still be at the Si- mon Graber Complex. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the banquet starting at 6:30 p.m. For questions, call 812-257-1041.
