We have the same power of the Spirit in our lives when we accept Christ. As we serve Him, we exemplify Him to others and hopefully influence the lives of those around us just as the Thessalonians did. We show the faith, hope and love that comes from following Jesus. "Because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction" (I Thes- salonians 1:5a). Remember those on our prayer list, the shut ins and our lost loved ones. Karri Brock, Reporter GR ACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Mission Statement New Beginnings: What would Jesus do? We will strive to be more like Je- sus in all that we do. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" (Psalms 121:1-2). Joseph Roman, Pastor Clara Walls, Reporter MT. PISGAH G.B. CHURCH 6100 S. Augusta Broadway Street Winslow Pastor 812-582-0756 Sunday morning wor- ship at 10 :15 a.m., chil- dren's Sunday school dur- ing morning worship; youth on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.; Family Devotion and fellowship on Wednes- day at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteous- ness, and all these things will be added to you" (Mat- thew 6:33). Jesus instructed those listening to Him to find their purpose by looking first for the kingdom of God. He promised they did, they would receive it and lots more. He pointed out that people should not wor- ry about their own needs. Those things will be taken care of, if you have your pri- orities straight. The act of seeking points to a person's motivation for living. You seek something when you want to have it. You desire it, you need it and you are looking for it. That is the heart attitude Jesus desires, a longing to find Him and His kingdom. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for servic- es. I am sure you will re- ceive a blessing from God above. May God bless each and everyone. Because He lives. John Manges, Minister in the scriptures that we are hard-pressed on every side. That seemingly in life, we feel like life at times is com- ing down on us from every angle. When that happens, we just want to give up. But that isn't where the verse ends. In fact, what Paul ac- tually says is "We are hard- pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair. What Paul wants us to know that in Christ, though we are faced with the harshest realities, our hope goes deeper and farther than our greatest despair. The hope and the promise is what we carry around. If you read further in II Corinthians 4:8 -12 you come to see that though we bear the burden of death in this life, it is Jesus' life that is revealed. Don't give up. Grace and Peace.
