Commissioners look at $17k bridge security fix By Janice Barniak Commissioners, in their regular monthly meet- ing on Sept. 3, approved $17,118 towards covered bridge security, with the caveat the company work with the Sheriff's Office to decide the best way to im- plement the security. Jason Buchanan, with BCS, brought two options, with the commissioners choosing the cheaper of the two, with mounted cameras. The county's two covered bridges, Wheeling Bridge and Old Red Bridge, have had many volunteers donate hours in work at the sites, only to have the bridges van- dalized. "It's something we've been working on for a long time. We do have money in the historical bridge fund. The amount of van- dalism is unbelievable," said County Commission- er Gerald Bledsoe. "If this curtails it some, it will be a great help." The cameras, in weath- erproof boxes, will cov- er multiple angles on the bridge. While one bridge already has power run to it, the other does not. BARTON TOWNSHIP VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE Date Opponent Place Time 9/12 G.C.
