She was born on Aug. 30, 1938, to Elza D. Henson Sr. and Ruth (Doughty) Hen- son. She had worked at Mid- west Rubber for 25 years and was member of Calvary Holi- ness Church in Petersburg. He was born November 18, 1935, to Lawrence and Mary (Garland) Meadors in Otwell. He worked and retired as a laborer for the Local #561 Union and was also a farm- er. He married his wife, Vi- olet Meadors, on March 21, 1969. He is survived by his wife, Violet Meadors; sons, Mitchell (Susie) Meadors, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and J.R. (Kim) Meadors, of Otwell; daughters, Vic- ki (Denny) Weisman, of Ot- well, Ruthie (Steve) Bar- rett, of Otwell, Donna ( Jerry Hodges) Miller, of Martins- ville, Jean Ann Garretson, of Evansville, Brandee (Chad) Mehringer, of Otwell, and Tenny (Redouane Wahid) Murray, of Hampton, Va.; grandchildren, Craig Weis- man, Ashley Kutch, Ethan Meadors, Trent Barrett, Greg Barrett, David Miller, John Miller and Jade Mill- er; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand- daughter. Harris Fu- neral Home was entrusted with his care. WENDELLA GR AY Wendella ( Wendy) Gray, 78, passed away on Mon- day, July 1, 2019, in Hayes- ville, N.C. She was born on Novem- ber 6, 1940, in San Francis- co, Calif. She married Rob- ert Gray on June 9, 1963, in Petersburg. She was a 1958 graduate of Petersburg High School. As a child, she lived in a number of places. including California, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky and Indiana. In 1967, she and Robert moved to Marshfield, Wisc., where she was determined to plant roots. She remained there for the next 51 years, build- ing a beautiful life for her- self and her family. She held various occupations over the years, including working in a music store in Evansville and clerking in a Hallmark store in Marshfield, Wisc. While raising her family, she worked seasonally at Fi- gi's Gifts in Marshfield. She was an active mem- ber of the Marshfield com- munity; she volunteered ma- ny hours to her family's ac- tivities and organizations. She was an active mem- ber of the First Presbyte- rian Church and served as a member of the deacons. Her hobbies included craft- ing, crocheting, cross-stitch- ing, sewing, reading and journal writing. She loved solving crossword puzzles, working jigsaw puzzles and playing games. She enjoyed traveling and square danc- ing with her husband. Her greatest pride was her family. She was a loving wife and mother who devot- ed numerous hours to her children and grandchildren. Her cheerfulness was infec- tious, and her sweet nature was contagious to everyone she met. Family and friends will miss her dearly. Surviving are her two children, daughter, Melissa Barnett, of Royston, Ga., and son, Nathan (Melissa) Gray, of Hayesville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Natalie El- len Gray and Cameron Rob- ert Gray, of Hayesville, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rob- ert; and her parents, Frank Anderson and Ellen Riley Anderson. A Celebration of Life ser- vice was at noon on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Harris Funer- al Home in Petersburg. In- terment was at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg af- ter the service. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amer- ican Brain Foundation. JACK GULLEY Jack Gulley, 77, of Fran- cisco, passed away Satur- day, July 6, 2019, at St. Vin- cent Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 19, 1942, in Pinckneyville, Ky., to parents Eugene Gulley and Dorothy E. ( Jennings) Durkot. He loved going to the racetrack and hanging out with his buddies. He had cattle and horses, and loved hanging out at the farm. He owned and operated Gul- ley's Auto Salvage since 1961. He was loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his chil- dren, Danny (Tina) Stone, of Winslow, and Sandra Gendren, of Francisco; sev- en grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many cousins and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Gulley; and sister, Doris J. Copeland. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at Colvin Funer- al Home, with burial to fol- low at Dyer Hill Cemetery in Burna, Ky., at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funer- al home.
