Gibson County awarded $1 million for roads Town of Francisco to receive $179,542 Gibson County roads will see a $1 million cash infusion this year, thanks to receiving a Community Crossings grant—a grant the county expected but did not win last year, which had tightened the belt on renovation possibilities around the county. Governor Eric J. Hol- comb and Indiana De- partment of Transporta- tion Commissioner Joe McGuinness announced March 26 that 189 Indiana cities, towns and counties received a combined $115 million in state-matching funds for local road proj- ects through the Next Level Roads: Community Crossings Initiative. Holcomb said. "Community Crossings projects are crucial to first mile and last mile solu- tions that companies need when evaluating Indiana to locate their business or expand to create addition- al jobs."
