The Chamber founded and developed the Tehama Economic Development Corporation, the area���s vitally important and successful economic and job development organization. The Chamber serves as the administrative arm of the Downtown Red Bluff Business Association and presents two scholarships each year to deserving Tehama County high school graduates. Under the community promotion and public information heading, the Chamber annually distributes 700 local maps, 1,300 recreation guides, 500 relocation packets, 6,000 event calendars and countless information ranging from housing and city and county demographics to telephone books and voter registra- tion forms. In addition, the Chamber handles around 1,900 telephone calls and e-mail requests monthly and greets and serves 40 walk-in visitors per day, which amounts to 800 per month, or 7,200 each year. The Chamber���s popular ���Tehama Country��� brochure is distributed through 252 outlets on the I-5 corridor from Dunnigan to Roseburg, Ore. In terms of special event sponsorship and promotion, the Chamber works with many organizations in the area and helps to attract more than 110,000 spectators and participants to Red Bluff during the course of any given year. These visitors spend more than $110 million in the county, according to the California Travel and Tourism Commission, and have a significant impact on the city and county���s tax, sales and gasoline tax revenues. In terms of membership services, the Chamber sponsors a ���Good Morning, Red Bluff��� meeting each month providing members, potential members and civic leaders the opportunity to network and receive local community updates on items of interest and importance to local businesses. The Chamber has begun an evening networking event each month at local businesses entitled ���Business After Hours.��� The Chamber helps get new businesses introduced to the community with grand-opening and ribbon-cutting assistance and provides all members with the opportunity to be ���spotlighted��� on the Chamber website ��� redbluffchamber.com, Facebook and Electronic Messaging Center. The Chamber assists area agricultural businesses with ���certificate of origin��� credentials in order for them to ship their products to foreign countries. The Chamber���s new Friday eBLAST is a very popular communication tool for it���s members. Finally, the Chamber, through its Electronic Message Center sign, provides advertising and promotion 16 hours per day to area businesses and countless community organizations for their events and projects. The Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber of Commerce is at 100 Main St., and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
