"The team Sat- urday was determined to not let Andrew Scott touch the ball. They grabbed him by the shorts and shirt. We knew this coming in and I told our guys to be ready to shoot. While they were try- ing to stop Andrew, Tyler did all what he could do all the time," said Sandifar. Scott led the team in scor- ing over the season, averag- ing 22.4 points per game. It was Oakland City's 18th consecutive win. They got to the finals by beating Campbells- ville-Somerset 101-67 on Friday night. Toopes was big in that game as well. He put up 38 points playing only 28 minutes. He was 10 of 13 from the floor, 13 of 13 from the free-throw line and had seven rebounds and six as- sists. "Tyler is really good. He just doesn't know how good he is," said Sandifar. "He plays and has fun. If he re- ally got after it and worked to be a as good as he can be, the sky is the limit for him." Nalley had four points in the semi-final game, with five rebounds and a steal. In the first round of the tournament, Oakland City beat Southeastern Baptist College 101-56. Toopes had 10 points on 4-8 shooting, including two three-pointers and two re- bounds in only 12 minutes. Nalley had four points. Scott had 19 points. Oakland City finished the season 24-5. The other Pike County connection is team manag- er Reid Craig, who also is a Pike Central grad. Sandifar said the crowd was loaded with Pike Coun- ty fans. "There were prob- ably 100 people from Pike County there Saturday night." SEIZE THE WEEK'S SPORTS NEWS. Get a hold on the sports world when you read the newspaper.
