"We had a couple of times that weren't their best, but you kind of expect that. This is kind of a big step for a real- ly young team." "We had a lot of best times," he added. "Nat had two best times in a regu- lar suit. Emma cut a whole bunch of time in the breast- stroke. Most of them had a cut in at least one event, so we did really well." As a team, Pike Central placed fifth with 188 points, trailing Jasper (462 points), Bedford North Lawrence (355), Tell City (285) and Southridge (253). Out of the PAC teams, two of them beat us. We beat the other four, so we did really well. I was pretty pleased." At the conclusion of the meet, it was announced that Mike Bohnert and Tell City head coach Stacy Marion had been voted as co-coach- es of the year. Mike Bohnert admitted that he was "surprised" and "happy" with the recogni- tion. "I mean, it's the kids," Mike Bohnert said. "So, that part, you don't even think about. You just come in and enjoy what you're doing and have a good time." Call us at 812-354-8500 or email sports@pressdispatch.net GOT SPORTS NEWS?
