Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday FR ANK L. YANCEY Frank L. Yancey, 67, of Washington, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Janu- ary 4, 2019, at his residence. He was born February 6, 1951, in Hinton, W. Va., to Don and Mary ( Young) Yancey. He owned and operated Yancey's V W Specialist, and was a member of the South- ern Indiana Volksforce. He played softball and served his country in the Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Debbie ( White) Yanc- ey, whom he married on Oc- tober 15, 1977; his children, David Yancey, of Wash- ington, Jordan Yancey, of Washington; a grandchild; a brother, Don L. Yancey, of Washington; a sister, Mary Huertas, of Pennsylvania; a sister- in-law and brother-in- law, Mitch (Angie) Porter, of Washington; one niece, and two nephews; one great- niece and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Goodwin Sievers Fu- neral Home in Washington. Visitation was from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. There will be no public burial as Frank wished to be cremat- ed. Goodwin Sievers Funer- al Home is proud to serve the family of Frank L. Yancey. JEFFREY D. SCHOONOVER Jeffrey D. Schoonover, 61, of Evansville, formerly of Oakland City, entered rest at his home. He was born on February 12, 1957, in Oakland City, to Richard and Eula Mae (Cas- key) Schoonover. He served as East Gib- son Little League president for four years and helped co-found the East Gibson Optimist Biddy Basketball League in 1990. He was the varsity baseball coach for three years, coached Jr. High basketball at Wood Memorial, and was an IH- SA A basketball official. He retired after 20 + years from Peabody Coal as a UMWA member. He is survived by his children, Brian (Shannon) Schoonover, of Oakland City, Eric Schoonover, of Evansville, and Jaimee (Mi- chael) Light, of Miami, Fla.; two grandchildren; brother, Alan ( Joyce) Schoonover, of Mackey; sister, Karen Briggs, of Oakland City; two nephews; and two nieces. A Celebration of Life was at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Matt Ma- lin officiating. Visitation was from 3 p.m. until services on Sunday at the chapel. THELMA WHITEHOUSE Thelma Whitehouse, 84, of Mechanicsville, Va., for- merly of Francisco, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, in Mechanicsville. She was born Wednes- day, Oct. 17, 1934, in Pike County, to Harrison and Oma Loveless White. She was a graduate of Mt. Olympus High School and married Oscar White- house Sept. 14, 1957, at the Wheeling United Meth- odist Church. She retired as the inventory manager at Sears Roebuck & Com- pany. She loved spending time with her granddaugh- ters, baking, bird watch- ing and gardening and was a longtime member of the Wheeling United Method- ist Church. She is survived by a son, Kevin (Debra) White- house, of Mechanicsville; and two granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar, on Dec. 4, 2013; brothers, Roscoe, Burl, Kenneth, Clarence and Harold White; and sisters, Gussie Amos, Olive Wirey, Mary K. Coan and Velma White. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Doyle Funer- al Home in Princeton, with Pastor Mike Ferguson of- ficiating. Interment was at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Doyle Funeral Home had the honor of hav- ing charge of the arrange- ments. PAULA J. EAGAN Paula J. Eagan, 74, of Fran- cisco, passed away Thurs- day, January 3, 2019, at Lin- da E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born May 16, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker and former factory worker, and had lived in the Francisco ar- ea for the past three years, coming from Elberfeld. She was a member of the former No-Ruz Grotto. She is survived by her children, Tina (Rich) Bethe, of Spurgeon, Donald ( Jea- nette) Gatewood, of Abing- don, Md., Teresa (David) Cullivan, Johnnie (Trac- ey) Gatewood and Shannel Whitehead, all of Francisco, and Misty (Chris) Williams, of Princeton; a sister, Elaine (Terry) Engleman, of Law- renceville, Ill.; 10 grandchil- dren; and six great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Irma (Sandwell) Dunkel; husband, Jack Eagan; two brothers, Tim and Paul; and two grandsons. A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Fa- ther Ted Temple officiating. Visitation was from noon until service time on Mon- day at the funeral home. EVA MAE (PUGH) TERRY Eva Mae (Pugh) Terry, 90, of Newburgh, formerly of Francisco, passed away peacefully on Friday, De- cember 29, 2018, at the Lin- da E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born in Francis- co in Gibson County to the late Robert (Hoyt) and Fan- nie (Burns) Pugh on April 23, 1928. She was a 1947 graduate of Francisco High School. In September of 1948, she married the love of her life, James D. Terry. During their 57 years of marriage, they had four children. She served as a gray lady at their school and was a member of the P TA. In 1978, Jim and Eva moved to Hillsboro, Wisc., where they resided for ten years. As the winters grew colder, they moved to Pales- tine, Ill. where they joined the Palestine Pilgrim Holi- ness Church. She loved to sing and spend time quilting. She made beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. In 1998, Jim and Eva moved back to Francis- co, where she continued to live for a few years after the death of her husband in De- cember 2005. She is survived by her chil- dren, Shelia Strunk, of Princ- eton, Nedra (Danny) Dillon, of Francisco, and Jim (Beth) Terry, of North Vernon; sev- en grandchildren; twen- ty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grand- children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Terry; their infant daugh- ter, Claudette; as well as her brothers and sisters. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with burial in Providence Ceme- tery in Francisco. Woodall, 80, of Petersburg, passed away Fri- day, January 4, 2019, at Am- ber Manor Care Center. She was born November 29, 1938, in Petersburg, to parents, Orlando "Toad" and Mary Hope (Robling) McCrary. She married James "Peck- eye" Woodall on December 16, 1959, and they spent al- most 55 years together un- til his passing on November 20, 2014. She spent most of her life in Petersburg, where she graduated high school. She retired in 2010 from Walmart, where she worked as a cashier for 15 years. She was a member of the VFW Post #3587 and was often found playing her favorite game, Bingo. Her greatest joy was being a loving grand- mother and great-grand- mother. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Beadles, of Union; son, Kenny Woodall, of Petersburg; two grand- sons; two great-grandchil- dren and one on the way; sis- ter, Betty (McCrary) Deck- er, of Petersburg; brother, Tom (Barb) McCrary, of Vin- cennes; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Services at Colvin Funer- al Home are pending at this time and announcements will be made at a later date.
