Levasseur made nine of 10 field goal attempts and was a perfect 1-for-1 from the free throw line as Wash- ington improved to 11-3. The Lady Hatchets scored the game's first eight points – on one basket by sophomore Jade Brown- ing and three baskets by Levasseur – before Pike Central got its first points on a basket by junior Jenna Horrall with 3:50 left in the opening period. Following an exchange of baskets – the first by senior Maddie Dant for Washing- ton, the second Lady Char- gers senior Allesha Sisk – back-to-back baskets by freshman Alaina Thorne and Levasseur extended the Lady Hatchets' lead to 14-4. Washington would stretch its lead to as many as 15 points in the second quarter – at 24-9 – before a three-pointer by Pike Cen- tral junior Lauren Vaughn and a basket by Lady Hatch- ets junior Quincee Healy left Washington with a 26 - 12 halftime lead. Pike Central would be held scoreless during the third period as the Lady Hatchets extended their with a time of 2:17.45, more than 53 seconds ahead of Gibson Southern sopho- more Ellen Schneider, who placed second with a time of 3:10.51. In addition, Bohnert teamed up with sophomores Charlotte Dudenhoeffer and Jenna Meyer and freshman Emma McKinney to place first in the 200 -yard med- ley relay with a season-best time of 2:13.84, beating their previous season-best time of 2:14.51. Bohnert, Dudenhoef- fer and Meyer also teamed up with freshman Madi- son Riley to place first in the 400 -yard freestyle re- lay with a season-best time of 4:27.96, beating their pre- vious season-best time of 4:30.59. Dudenhoeffer placed first in two individual events – the 200 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:25.69, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 2:28.00, and the 500 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 6:31.67, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 6:35.54. Also placing first in indi- vidual events for the Lady Chargers were Meyer in div- ing with a season-best six- dive score of 199.40 points, beating her previous sea- son-best six-dive score of 181.15 points; and Riley in the 100 -yard backstroke with a season-best time of 1:18.89, beating her pre- vious season-best time of 1:20.94. Placing second in indi- vidual events for the Lady Chargers was McKinney in diving with a season-best six-dive score of 165.15 points, beating her previ- ous season-best six-dive score of 162.85 points. She also placed second in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:23.57, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 1:27.41. Placing third in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were Meyer in the 100 -yard butterfly with a season-best time of 1:28.14, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 1:29.14; Riley in the 200 -yard free- style with a season-best time of 2:35.00, beating her previous season-best time of 2:37.85; and freshman Avery Hunt in the 50 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 35.78 seconds, beat- ing her previous season-best time of 36.31 seconds. Placing fourth in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were freshman Mor- gan Sallee in the 200 -yard individual medley with a season-best time of 3:56.17, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 3:59.34; and freshman Alyse Wire in the 50 -yard freestyle with a sea- son-best time of 39.27 sec- onds, beating her previous season-best time of 41.30 seconds. Placing fifth in individ- ual events for the Lady Chargers were Wire in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a time of 1:53.57; and fresh- man Sarah Fenwick in the 500 -yard freestyle with a time of 8:06.01. Placing sixth in an indi- vidual event for the Lady Chargers was Sallee in the 100 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 1:33.32, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 1:33.56. In addition, the team of Fenwick, Hunt, McKinney and Riley placed third in the 200 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:19.27; and the team of Fenwick, Hunt, Sal- lee and Wire placed fourth in the 400 -yard freestyle with a time of 6:04.08, and fifth in the 200 -yard medley relay with a time of 3:09.84. As a team, Pike Central placed second with 121 points – just four behind first-place Gibson South- ern's 125 points. Northeast Dubois was third with 51 points. Pike Central will host Evansville Christian and Vincennes Lincoln on Wednesday, Jan. 9, before traveling to Jasper for a tri- meet on Thursday, Jan. 10, and to Tecumseh for a tri- meet on Saturday, Jan. 12. Vaughn paced Pike Cen- tral – which fell to 4-10 with its seventh straight loss – with nine points. Sopho- more Kenzie Powell added three points while Horrall, Sisk, senior Kelsey Bar- rett, senior Becca Crow and sophomore Mallory Hickey chipped in two points each. Freshman Mallory Hunt led the Lady Chargers with five rebounds. For the game, Pike Cen- tral made eight of 31 field goal attempts – a 25.8 per- cent average – and hit three of six tries from the free throw line while turning the ball over 18 times. Healy and Thorne added six points each for Washing- ton, which improved to 11-3. Browning and senior Lind- say Moody both tossed in four points. Moody also had a game-high four steals. For the game, the Lady Hatchets made 21 of 42 field goal attempts - a 50 percent average – and hit three of seven tries from the free throw line while turning the ball over 12 times.
