Hill and Sam Theising were both second in anoth- er as the Pike Central High School boys' swimming and diving team finished third in a three-team meet hosted by the Chargers on Thursday, Nov. 29. Cooper placed second in the 50 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 25.73 seconds, beating his pre- vious season-best time of 26.14 seconds, and second in the 100 -yard backstroke with a season-best time of 1:10.43, beating his previous season-best time of 1:11.18. Hill placed second in the 500 -yard freestyle with a time of 7:02.12. Sam Theising placed sec- ond in the 200 -yard freestyle with a personal record time of 2:23.86, beating his pre- vious PR time of 2:27.92 by more than four seconds. In addition, Sam Theising set a new personal record time in the 100 -yard free- style when he placed third with a time of 1:02.96, beat- ing his previous PR time of 1:06.42 by more than 4-1/2 seconds. Cooper, Hill and Sam The- ising also teamed up with sophomore Garrett Boyd to place second in the 200 -yard freestyle relay with a sea- son-best time of 1:56.93, beating their previous sea- son-best time of 1:59.15, and third in the 400 -yard freestyle relay with a sea- son-best time of 4:30.75, beating their previous sea- son-best time of 4:36.12. Also placing third in indi- vidual events for the Char- gers were Boyd in div- ing with a season-best six- dive score of 124.60 points, beating his previous sea- son-best six-dive score of 101.00 points; and Hill in the 200 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:32.65, beating his previous sea- son-best time of 2:43.24. Placing fifth in individu- al events for the Chargers were Boyd in the 100 -yard freestyle with a personal re- cord time of 1:10.95, beat- ing his previous PR time of 1:13.74 by almost four sec- onds; sophomore Noah Rus- sell in the 50 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 34.48 seconds, beating his previous season-best time of 36.50 seconds; and fresh- man Isaac Theising in the 100 -yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.86, and in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:08.02, beating his previous sea- son-best time of 2:10.43. Placing sixth in an indi- vidual event for the Char- gers was Russell in the 100 -yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.97. As a team, the Chargers finished third with a total of 59 points, trailing Boon- ville (157 points) and Gibson Southern (92 points). Pike Central, along with Southridge, will compete in a three-team meet hosted by South Spencer on Thurs- day, Dec. 6, before return- ing home to host Evans- ville Reitz on Monday, Dec. 10, and Evansville North on Wednesday, Dec. 12. more than 18 seconds ahead of Gibson Southern's Tier- ney Maurer, who placed sec- ond with a time of 2:38.69. Bohnert also placed first in the 100 -yard backstroke with a season-best time of 1:00.53, beating her pre- vious season-best time of 1:00.95, and finishing al- most 17 seconds ahead of Booneville's Kali Taber, who placed second with a time of 1:17.37. Dudenhoeffer placed first in the 500 -yard free- style with a season-best ty- ing time of 6:44.09, finish- ing more than nine seconds ahead of Boonville's Kyra Derr, who placed second with a time of 6:53.82. Meyer placed first in div- ing with a season-best six- dive score of 181.15 points, beating her previous sea- son-best six-dive score of 173.95 points. Boonville's Harley Welte placed sec- ond with a six-dive score of 156.20 points. In addition, Bohnert, Dudenhoeffer and Meyer teamed up with freshman Emma McKinney to place second in the 200 -yard med- ley relay with a season-best time of 2:14.51, beating their previous season-best time of 2:15.06. Bohnert, Dudenhoeffer and Meyer also teamed up with freshman Madison Ri- ley to place second in the 400 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:30.59. Placing second in individ- ual events for the Lady Char- gers were Dudenhoeffer in the 200 -yard freestyle with a time of 2:31.94; and Mey- er in the 100 -yard butter- fly with a season-best time of 1:29.34, beating her pre- vious season-best time of 1:31.62. Placing third in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were McKinney in div- ing with a season-best six- dive score of 144.80 points, beating her previous sea- son-best six-dive score of 140.90 points, and in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:27.41, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 1:29.47; and Riley in the 200 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:38.56, beating her previous season-best time of 2:41.97. Placing fourth in an in- dividual event for the Lady Chargers was Riley in the 100 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 1:10.74, beating her previous sea- son-best time of 1:12.11. In addition, freshman Morgan Sallee placed fifth in the 50 -yard freestyle with a time of 39.17 seconds, and fifth in the 500 -yard free- style with a time of 8:50.29, while freshman Sarah Fen- wick placed sixth in the 200 -yard individual medley with a time of 3:40.33, and sixth in the 100 -yard free- style with a time of 1:26.98. As a team, the Lady Char- gers finished third with a total of 79 points, trail- ing Boonville (141 points) and Gibson Southern (86 points). Pike Central, along with Southridge, will compete in a three-team meet host- ed by South Spencer on Thursday, Dec. 6, before re- turning home to host Evans- ville Reitz on Monday, Dec. 10, and Evansville North on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Bohnert won the 100 -yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.40 – breaking the previous school record of 1:02.92 she set in 2017 – to outpace Evansville Cen- tral's Peyton Kinsler, who finished second with a time of 1:04.69. Bohnert also placed first in the 100 -yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.10, more than eight seconds ahead of Evansville Central's Jada Banks, who finished sec- ond with a time of 1:09.57. In addition, Bohnert teamed up with sopho- mores Charlotte Duden- hoeffer and Jenna Mey- er and freshman Emma McKinney to place second in the 200 -yard medley re- lay with a time of 2:16.73, and second in the 400 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:39.96. Dudenhoeffer placed first in the 500 -yard free- style with a season-best time of 6:44.09, beating her previous season-best time of 6:48.89. Meyer placed first in div- ing with a season-best five- dive score of 173.95 points, beating her previous sea- son-high of 160.25 points. McKinney placed first in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a time of 1:29.66. Placing second in indi- vidual events for the La- dy Chargers were Duden- hoeffer in the 200 -yard individual medley with a time of 2:56.83; McKin- ney in diving with a sea- son-best five-dive score of 140.90 points, beating her previous season-best time of 129.00 points; and fresh- man Madison Riley in the 200 -yard freestyle with a time of 2:42.45. Placing third in indi- vidual events for the La- dy Chargers were Mey- er in the 100 -yard butter- fly with a time of 1:31.62; Riley in the 100 -yard free- style with a time of 1:13.08; and freshman Sarah Fen- wick in the 50 -yard free- style with a time of 35.38 seconds. Placing fourth in indi- vidual events for the La- dy Chargers were Fen- wick in the 100 -yard free- style with a season-best time of 1:21.86, beating her previous season-best time of 1:22.02; freshman Avery Hunt in the 50 -yard freestyle with a time of 37.18 seconds and in the 100 -yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.41; and fresh- man Morgan Sallee in the 100 -yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:53.63, beating her pre- vious season-best time of 1:54.98. Sallee also placed fifth in the 200 -yard freestyle with a time of 3:18.58. In addition, Fenwick, Hunt, Riley and Sallee teamed up to place third in the 200 -yard freestyle relay with a season-best time of 2:26.98, beating their previous season-best time of 2:28.41, and fourth in the 400 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 5:55.01. As a team, Pike Central scored a total of 110 points, finishing second behind Evansville Central, which scored a total of 145 points. Evansville Bosse placed third with 19 points.
