The Winslow Patoka River was low, but then we had some rain on Hallow- een and Thursday that caused some ponding on the roads. Saturday, No- vember 3, we all woke up to dense fog and in our areas we couldn't see our neighbors from a ½ block to one block away. The leaves have changed their colors, and it was so beautiful to drive through Pike County, Campbelltown and see the bright vibrant colors of yellow, orange, red, rust, and green. When the rain came, if you haven't seen those areas, then you missed the fall colors in several wooded areas, be- cause the wind has blown the leaves to the ground. Our yards are full of leaves and more to fall down, so now the rak- ing begins or get out the mower and mulch them up. Sunday a week ago we thought we were going to rest for a while on the cutting of wood, but one tree in Wayne's yard decided to fall down. It was a tall tree. It didn't do any dam- age to other trees or the truck, but the cleanup was a two to three day job. We got the wood that landed in our yard plus a big bonfire. Thanks, Wayne. Sunday Laura got to sign her first full song service, and she really en- joyed her experience and she will sign again in upcoming Sundays. Have you ladies got your mammo- grams for this year? Monday I got mine, and I already got my results and I'm A-OK, nothing's wrong. It on- ly takes a few minutes out of your day to have this done, and they will be at the Deaconess Clinic parking lot in Pe- tersburg on November 9 and Decem- ber 13. Halloween in Winslow and several other places was changed to Tuesday, October 30 because of the heavy rain to come in on Halloween that ended up raining after the 8 p.m. hour into Thursday. Any- way, the Winslow Hallow- een Parade was large and the parking lot where the Winslow Lions hold their Halloween Contest was full, the most the Winslow Lions have seen in a long time. Those who went trick or treating were in group and lots of kids were out with their mom and dad. I was out with Laura to hand out a treat to those who decorated their yard for Halloween for the kids and adults to enjoy. Sweets Column hand- ed out 22 treats in the Winslow town and there were new yards decorated this year. Many of our stars who deco- rate each year and to all our stars, we Thank You very much. You all out did yourself this year. My mom turned 92 years on Hallow- een, October 31, so Terri Ann, Aunt Jean, Norm and I all took mom to Gran- dy's for her birthday meal, and when we got back home we ate a decorated cake and she opened up her presents. Winslow Lions Club had a great time last Thursday as we all brought in the Thanksgiving meal of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed po- tatoes, corn, green beans, rolls, corn bread, gravy, cranberry sauce, and tea to wash it all down with. We al- so had that tasty pumpkin pie, pump- kin delight, peach cobbler and coffee. There were 18 of us to share this won- derful meal together and what a sur- prise to see Linda Daugherty to join us. She got a great welcome of clapping as she walked through the doors. All of us Lions had a great time, and the meal was so tasty we all could have tak- en a nap afterwards like we would do on Thanksgiving Day; we have great cooks. Winslow Winter Wonderland is back this year in the old dime store where Ralph Bertram had his feed store in. If you have a Christmas display to put up, then contact the Winslow Beautifica- tion stars like Debra Lamb, Ralph Ber- tram, and on December 1 and every weekend after, you can come and en- joy these displays of Christmas. More info to come on dates and times. Hope you all get involved in this Winslow happening. Saturday, November 3 at the Peters- burg Hardware was Ladies' Night. If you didn't come, you missed out of the loads of fun all of us ladies had play- ing the great games and the scaven- ger hunt for items all over the store. There were delicious finger food and
