Farm Sanctuary Farm Sanctuary's 300acre California farm sits on the eastern foothills of the coastal mountain range near Orland in southern Tehama County just minutes south of Corning. Black Butte Lake and recreation area is across the road, 10 minutes west of Interstate 5. A visitor center includes educational displays, a cruelty-free gift shop and a beautiful outdoor pavilion. The animals at Farm Sanctuary love visitors as much as you'll love touring the farm animal shelters. The sanctuaries are home to hundreds of rescued cows, pigs, turkeys and other farm animals. Each has a special story to tell. Farm Sanctuary offers 300 acres of habitat for rescued farm animals. After meeting the farm animal friends, visitors can browse through the education center, filled with literature, videos, displays and gift items. Tours Guided tours are held on Saturdays, every hour from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., May through October. Cost is $3 for adults, $1 for children 12 and younger and free for children younger than 3.
