The Red Bluff Round Up is three hours of
action packed entertainment: from cowboys
trying to conquer bulls, the most formidable
beasts on the planet, to competitors teaming
up with their equine partners to rope, wrestle
and ride as fast as possible. The seven events
fans will see during the rodeo include bareback
riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team
roping, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, and
bull riding.
The Round-Up is more than just a rodeo. It
boasts horse and mule races, taking place on
the track during rodeo events. For the littles,
there's "mutton busting" (also known as sheep
riding) prior to each rodeo performance, and
the Wild Pony Race for the young buckaroos.
In the Wild Pony Race, teams of three kids
work to hang on to the halter of a wild pony,
while one of them jumps on its back and races
around the arena. The fastest time wins!
The activities aren't limited to the arena,
however. The Chamber of Commerce hosts
its Eleven Days of Round-Up, with a cowboy
coffee, cowboy movies at the theater, the
cowboy golf tournament, pancake breakfast,
car show, bowling tournament, cowboy church,
Red Cross blood drive, and the big parade.
Even the businesses in town get into the
rodeo spirit by decorating their windows and
entryways with a cowboy theme. The 2019
