Find out how the British Grand Prix at Silver- stone Circuit affects the ranking by tuning in to ESPN on Sunday, July 8. Much like last year, Hamilton and Vettel began the 2018 season exchanging spots on the podium and are running a tight race for the World Drivers' Champion, which Hamilton is currently defending. It wasn't until last year's win at the British Grand Prix that Hamilton began to take over the scoring system by winning five of the last 10 events, compared to Vettel's two victo- ries. Hamilton finished with 363 points and won his fifth World Drivers' Champion title by 46 points. Hamilton looks to repeat his overhaul from last year with another victory at Silverstone and establish his dominance of the track by becoming the winningest driver at the British Grand Prix with six titles. He is currently tied with F1 legends Alain Prost and compatriot Jim Clark with a record five and looks poised to set his own record after winning the past four British Grand Prix titles in a row. Although Hamilton is expected to take the British Grand Prix, Vettel aims to re- bound from where he came up short last year. After responding to Hamilton's win at the British Grand Prix, Vettel won the Hun- garian Grand Prix and appeared fit to com- pete for his first World Drivers' Champion- ship since 2013. However, he was forced to retire in Singapore and Japan due to mechanical issues, which saw his pace fall drastically. Despite his collapse, Vettel was able to hang on to second position in the World Drivers' Championship, which sug- gests there could be an interesting finish to the 2018 F1 season if he manages to steer clear of any early exits. Tune in Sunday, July 8, for live coverage on ESPN. Stand alone at Silverstone: Lewis Hamilton looks to make history at British Grand Prix sports this week sports feature
